Solid effort from Baldacci. Both MCs (King and Maxwell) are empathetic protags, bound by a similar professional fate (failure in their jobs as Secret Service agents). Foreshadowing of the antagonist was good, if slightly contrived (probably because I missed seeing the foreshadow as being significant).

The plot takes a leisurely pace through the middle section of the book, but goes into overdrive at the end. Baldacci does a good job of setting up the sequels for the two MCs at the end.
