An extremely interesting story transporting the reader into a completely alien world years and years ago in ancient Greece. William Golding - writing in the voice of a young girl whose words are to be used at the service of the gods - left this manuscript in draft at his sudden death before its completion.
The portrayal of the differences between men and women, and of their culture back then, is fantastic and a little mesmerising. It really is like you are entering a whole new world.
